Dishes come out wet
Many modern dishwashers dry by condensation, so plastics stay damp by design. Dishes that are all soaked point to rinse aid, heat or a vent.

- Rinse aid. Most condensation-dry dishwashers rely on it; keep the dispenser full.
- Unload bottom rack first. Water on the top rack drips onto the bottom.
- Heated dry setting. Check it is selected if your model has it.
Unplug first. Switch off power (and close the water or gas supply where it applies) before looking behind or inside an appliance. If anything feels unsafe, stop and call.
What usually causes it
| Heating element | No heat for drying on models that use one. |
|---|---|
| Vent or fan | A vent that doesn't open or a fan that has failed. |
| Rinse aid dispenser | Not dispensing. |
When to stop and call
Not urgent.

What the visit costs
The diagnostic is free when you approve the repair and it's completed. You get the cause, the parts, labour and total in writing before any work. If you don't go ahead, it's $89 + tax for a home electric appliance, or $149 + tax for a gas appliance.
