The diagnostic is free when you go ahead with the repair: you pay only the quoted repair. If you decide not to, it's $89 + tax for a home electric appliance. It covers the visit, the inspection and a written finding with the full repair price.
What about gas appliances and commercial equipment?
The diagnostic is also free when you go ahead with the repair. If you decide not to, it's $149 + tax per gas appliance or commercial unit.
Do you charge for travel?
Not within about 35 km of downtown Ottawa. Beyond that, any travel charge is quoted before you book.
Can you come today?
Sometimes, when a technician has an open window. Send a request or call 613-880-3013 and we'll tell you the earliest time we can actually keep.
What happens after I book online?
We receive your request right away, and a technician gets in touch with you as soon as possible to set a time. The form takes about a minute: the appliance, what's wrong, when suits you, and how to reach you.
Should I repair or replace my appliance?
It depends on the repair price, the condition of the rest of the machine, and whether parts are still made. The written finding gives you all three and a plain recommendation. We don't sell appliances, so there's no reason to push you either way.
What warranty do you give?
Any part we replace has a 90-day warranty. And satisfaction is guaranteed: if something isn't right with our work, we come back to make it right.
Do you repair gas appliances?
Yes. Gas ranges, ovens, cooktops and dryers are repaired by licensed gas technicians. If you smell gas, leave the building and call 911 or your gas utility from outside first.
Which areas do you cover?
Ottawa and Gatineau: central Ottawa, Nepean, Kanata, Stittsville, Barrhaven, Riverside South, Manotick, Gloucester, Orléans, rural Ottawa, and nearby towns like Russell, plus Gatineau, Hull, Aylmer and Buckingham on the Quebec side. Other Quebec addresses aren't covered.
What should I have ready for the technician?
The model and serial number (a photo of the label is ideal), any error code, and clear access to the appliance. For businesses, the site contact, access instructions and who approves the repair.
Who approves a repair at a business or rental?
Whoever you name: the on-site contact, a manager by email, or a purchase order. Nothing is repaired until that person approves the written price.
