  • Leaks from the door or underneath

Repair or replace?

Drain pumps, inlet valves, door latches and heating parts are usually worth replacing. A leaking tub or a failed main control on an older budget model may not be, and the finding will compare the repair price with replacement.

Northway doesn't sell appliances, so the recommendation is only about your machine. Most major brands are covered; units still under the manufacturer's warranty should go to the manufacturer first.

Common dishwasher problems we fix

What each symptom usually means. The technician confirms the cause with tests before replacing anything, and the finding names the part.

Repairs we do on dishwashers

How a visit works

  1. You send a request. Your phone, email and the service address are all we need. Add the appliance and what's wrong if you like.
  2. A technician gets in touch. As soon as possible, by phone or text, to set a time that works for you.
  3. The technician diagnoses. They find the cause and write it down: what failed, the parts, labour and total price, and whether the repair is worth doing.
  4. You decide. Approve the written quote and the diagnostic is free: it comes off when the repair is completed. Say no, and you pay only the diagnostic ($89 + tax for a home electric appliance).

Dishwasher repair questions

How much does dishwasher repair cost?

The diagnostic is free when you go ahead with the repair. If you decide not to, it's $89 + tax for a home electric appliance. Either way, you get the full repair price in writing before any work.

Why won't my dishwasher drain?

Start with the filter at the bottom of the tub. If it's clean, the drain hose, the sink drain or disposer connection, or the drain pump are next.

Is it worth fixing a dishwasher?

Pumps, inlet valves, latches and heating elements are usually worth replacing. A failed control board or a rusted tub on an older budget model often isn't.

Can I use my dishwasher if it leaks?

No. Turn it off at the breaker and close the water valve under the sink. Water under the floor or cabinets can do more damage than the repair costs.

Do you install dishwashers?

Our technicians repair dishwashers. Ask when you call if you need a replacement connected; we'll tell you honestly whether we can help.

Why are my dishes still wet at the end?

Many newer dishwashers dry by condensation and rely on rinse aid. If yours has a heating element and dishes are cold and wet, the element or its control may have failed.
