Commercial ice machine slow or not making ice
Ice machines are sensitive to water quality, airflow and cleaning. Many service calls come down to scale and a dirty condenser, which is why a regular cleaning schedule matters.

Safe checks before you book
- Water supply and filter. Make sure the supply valve is open and the water filter isn't overdue.
- Air around the machine. Air-cooled machines need clearance and a clean condenser. A hot, dusty corner cuts production sharply.
- Error lights. Note any lights or codes on the control board. Most machines report the fault type.
- When was it last cleaned?. Scale on the evaporator stops ice from releasing. If cleaning is overdue, tell us when you book.
Unplug first. Switch off power (and close the water or gas supply where it applies) before looking behind or inside an appliance. If anything feels unsafe, stop and call.
What usually causes it

When to stop and call
Water leaking onto the floor near electrical connections. Turn off the water supply and the machine.
What the visit costs
The diagnostic is free when you approve the repair and it's completed. You get the cause, the parts, labour and total in writing before any work. If you don't go ahead, it's $149 + tax per commercial unit.
