Refrigerators & freezers
Refrigerator water dispenser not working
If ice is still being made, the supply is fine and the problem is at the dispenser. If both stopped, check the supply and filter first.

Safe checks before you book
- Filter. An overdue or incorrectly seated filter restricts flow.
- Frozen line in the door. Water lines through the door can freeze if the freezer runs very cold.
- Supply valve. Make sure the wall valve is open.
Unplug first. Switch off power (and close the water or gas supply where it applies) before looking behind or inside an appliance. If anything feels unsafe, stop and call.
What usually causes it
| Water inlet valve | One side of a dual valve can fail. |
|---|---|
| Frozen door line | Thawed and the cause corrected. |
| Dispenser switch or control | The paddle or button doesn't signal the valve. |
When to stop and call
Leaking from the dispenser area. Close the supply valve.

What the visit costs
The diagnostic is free when you approve the repair and it's completed. You get the cause, the parts, labour and total in writing before any work. If you don't go ahead, it's $89 + tax for a home electric appliance, or $149 + tax for a gas appliance.
